Description : This series commemorates the work of convict artist William Buelow Gould, who was imprisoned at Tasmania’s Macquarie Harbour penal colony in 1832. While serving as a servant to a medical officer, Gould painted 36 delicate watercolor studies of local fish and shellfish. His highly significant sketchbook is now part of the UNESCO Australian Memory of the World Register.

  • Left Stamp (Cow fish): Features the seventh painting from his sketchbook, depicting a Cow (or Coffer) fish.
  • Center Stamp (Walking fish): Highlights the ninth watercolor in his book, illustrating a Walking fish.
  • Right Stamp (Porcupine fish): Showcases the 23rd painting in the sketchbook, a spiky Porcupine fish.
