Description : This series commemorates the work of convict artist William Buelow Gould, who was imprisoned at Tasmania’s Macquarie Harbour penal colony in 1832. While serving as a servant to a medical officer, Gould painted 36 delicate watercolor studies of local fish and shellfish. His highly significant sketchbook is now part of the UNESCO Australian Memory of the World Register.
