The Elephant Carrying Howdah procession in Mysuru, called Jamboo Savari, is a major event of the Dussehra festival in Mysuru, Karnataka. A decorated elephant carries a golden seat with a statue of the goddess Chamundeshwari. The parade starts at Mysore Palace, with other adorned elephants, horses, floats, and traditional performances, showcasing the area’s rich culture and history.

Vidhana Soudha is a very popular majestic building and a tourist attraction. It is also a Legislative House built in style described as Neo-Dravidian Style. The sprawling building and its surroundings occupy 60 acres. The Vidhana Soudha is built largely with “Bangalore granite”, excavated from the areas around Mallasandra and Hessaraghatta. One of the interesting features of this building is grand stairs in its front. The grand stairs has a flight of forty-five steps 204 feet wide 70 feet deep giving a direct access to the foyer of first floor leading to an Assembly Chamber.

Bengaluru is nearly 500 years old and has grown from a small time settlement when Kempe Gowda, the architect of Bengaluru, built a mud fort in 1537 and his son marked the city boundaries by erecting four watch towers. These four towers credited to have founded Bangalore, are in Kempambudhi tank, Mekhri Circle, Lalbagh, and Ulsoor. Kempe Gowda Tower near Lalbagh tank in Lalbagh at the end of Double Road – on top of a hillock in Lalbagh is the most visited among all the towers. From here, you can actually see the Bangalore Skyline. The tower is on a rock which is very ancient and believed to be 3,000 million years old according to Geological Survey of India.
