The Odi Kathi and Peeche Kathi are traditional weapons of the Kodava community in Kodagu (Coorg), Karnataka. The Odi Kathi, a ceremonial short sword, is worn by men with a Thodang (waist belt). The Peeche Kathi, an ornamental dagger with a handle shaped like a parrot or peacock, is worn in a chele (sash) and features a decorative sheath linked to a silver chain with miniature weapon replicas. Both are beautifully crafted and significant in Kodava culture.
